About:
Community Violence Intervention (CVI) is a shared effort to prevent violence by addressing its root causes and supporting those most at risk, as well as those who have been affected as victims or as individuals who caused harm.
The team consists of:
CVI Specialists: Trusted mentors with lived experience who meet youth where they are, remove barriers, and connect them to support.
Data Analyst: Tracks referrals and services while coordinating impactful workshops and programs.
Village Manager: Leads the team, builds partnerships, and ensures high-quality support for youth.
The Village Program provides trauma-informed intervention and case management services to youth ages 12-24 who are at risk or who have been impacted by community violence.
Goals:
- Reduce re-injury and re-hospitalization for survivors of violent injuries
- Support positive development and holistic healing for survivors and families affected by violence
- Foster awareness of violence prevention and recovery strategies
- Interrupt the cycle of community violence
- Prevent retaliation
- Build trust through early intervention & prevention
- Foster long-term community safety
